Tunnel Vision
In Robert MacFarland’s book Underland: A Deep Time Journey, he writes, “Only around 5% of the universe mass is made of the matter we can touch with our hands and witness with our eyes and instruments.”
It’s humbling that 95% of the universe escapes us.
Our anthropocentric view clouds our perception.
We drive down the street on autopilot, forgetting what we are doing, yet arriving at our destination.
When on a call at work, we are all too confident in knowing the answer, but we know so little about how our own brain works.
We so easily navigate the World Wide Web, but the world beneath our feet in the earth’s crust is a mystery to us.
Our universe is one big black hole, and we all have tunnel vision.
