The Ginkgo
The ginkgo tree is an ancient organism — one of the oldest living trees, having been around before the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Some call the tree a living fossil for surviving unchanged for 200 million years.
It is known for its beautiful autumn yellow foliage and medicinal properties such as treating blood disorders and memory issues.
Unlike other deciduous trees whose leaves fall sporadically in autumn, the ginkgo does something remarkable. On a single day, all the leaves fall together — one of nature’s many phenomena.
These leaves are not shaped like other trees. There are no needles or oval shapes. Many describe the ginkgo’s leaves as fan-shaped.
But if you look closely at the ginkgo leaf, you can see the shape of a butterfly.
Perhaps the leaves falling all at once is a reminder of the miracles of nature and the butterfly effect of life.

Very interesting 🤔
When the female ginkgo trees shed their leaves and berries, they rot and emit a stench often likened to dirty gym socks, vomit, or poop
