Ask any kid who grew up in the '90s, and that cheat code from Nintendo’s Contra is ingrained in their mind.

It would give you 30 lives and a chance to be the commando who defeats the evil Red Falcon Organization!

But the interesting thing about this cheat code was that it was mistakenly not removed when put into production.

The cheat code made this famously hard video game beatable and therefore popular.

The Konami Code took on a life of its own with hundreds of games using the same cheat code or other “easter eggs” to make their game more interesting.

Perfection is often a trap that hides authenticity and holds back shipping work to the world.
