For the last four years, every other week, I made granola, following the famous Alice Waters’ recipe Fanny’s Superfood Granola.
At first, I followed it to the tee except excluded two ingredients that I didn’t have, groats and quinoa.
I didn’t realize it at first, but this small act made it my own.
Then, the next month, I substituted olive oil for coconut oil. I also tried agave another time.
Instead of just almonds, walnuts, and cashews, I experimented again with brazil nuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts too!
Three years later, I had an idea to make it even better for my children by adding rice puffs and some of their favorite cereal flakes.
I began by following a recipe. Then I created my own.
What’s cooking in your kitchen?
I’d love a batch
Looks yummy 🤤
